The Majesty of the Pacific

Welcome to the vastness of the Colombian Pacific. On these shores, where the deep blue of the ocean blends with the lush green of the jungle, one of the ocean’s most moving wonders awaits you: the dance of the migrating whales. It is an invitation to witness marine life at its finest, to an intimate and respectful encounter with the majesty that emerges from the waves. A corner of biodiversity and untamed beauty awaits you, ready to offer you a truly magical moment.

DAY 1 – Reception to Nuquí – Ecolodge La Kula – The Waterfall of Love
Pickup at Nuquí Airport, where you’ll pay the destination entry tax. We’ll then walk 2 minutes to the tourist pier, where a shared boat will be waiting to take us to Guachalito on a trip lasting
approximately 45 minutes. Arrival at the hotel and check-in. Traditional lunch. In the afternoon, we’ll hike to the Cascada del Amor (Waterfall of Love) on a roughly 15-minute walk along the beach. Swimming at the waterfall. At the agreed-upon time, return to the ecolodge; free time to enjoy the beach. Dinner and overnight stay.

DAYS 2 & 3 – Whale Watching – Additional Activities
Breakfast. In the morning, there will be a whale-watching excursion (1 trip during whale season). Return to the ecolodge, lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy the beach or participate in additional
activities. Dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 4 – Termales village
Breakfast, hike to the village of Termales (1 hour and 30 minutes each way), with the option to release baby turtles (additional cost; availability to be confirmed during your stay). Admission to the hot springs (entrance fee not included). Walk back to the hotel (boat transfer available at an extra cost). Lunch and free afternoon to rest and enjoy the beaches. Dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 5 – Ecolodge La Kuka – Nuquí airport
Breakfast. Depending on your flight time, return to Nuquí by shared boat.

Recommendations
This experience requires a basic level of physical fitness. We recommend bringing proof of yellow fever vaccination, lightweight clothing, comfortable shoes, an open mind, and a deep respect for the communities and the local area. ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES
Additional activities are arranged and paid for directly at the destination.
1. COOKING CLASS WITH NUQUÍSEÑAS WOMEN
A space where you can learn tips and techniques of traditional Nuquín cuisine and finish by enjoying the dish you’ve prepared. Duration: 2–3 hours. Difficulty: low. Price: $ 17 / 15 € per person. Minimum of 2 people.
2. JOVÍ RIVER TOUR
From the ecolodge, take an approximately 1-hour walk along the beach, skirting the jungle to Joví. Upon arrival in the village of Joví, you’ll receive a brief orientation from the local group of
guides, followed by a 2-hour journey in a chingo (traditional canoe) down the Joví River. During the trip, you’ll see the landscape, flora, and fauna, the mangroves, and hear stories from
the chingueros. The trip ends at a small waterfall called La Chontadura, where you can take a refreshing dip in the jungle. After about half an hour, we’ll start the descent down the river back to the village. There, we’ll take the boat that brings you back to the ecolodge. Duration: 4 hours. Difficulty: moderate Price: $ 39 / 34 € per person. For groups of 2 or more.

3. WATER HIKING ALONG THE TERCO RIVER
A 2-hour hike along the riverbed and its streams until you reach a waterfall in the middle of the jungle, where you can take a refreshing dip. At the agreed-upon time, the return hike begins  along the river and beach back to the ecolodge, a journey of approximately 2 hours. Throughout the hike, you’ll be able to enjoy the local flora and fauna. Duration: 4 hours. Difficulty: moderate. Price: $ 14 / 12 € per person. For groups of 2 or more.

4. TURTLE RELEASE
Hike to the entrance of Termales, where a community-led sea turtle conservation project is underway. Egg-laying is monitored, and confirmed nests are identified to distinguish them from “false tracks” (where the turtle does not lay eggs), and their locations are marked to protect them. At the appropriate time, the hatched baby turtles are released into the sea. Duration: 1 hour. Difficulty: low. Price: $ 11 / 10 € net per person. For groups of 1 person or more. This activity is not guaranteed because we, as a hotel, are notified only 1 day in advance whether or not the release will take place; we suggest booking upon arrival.

5. VICHE TASTING
Depart from the ecolodge for a 10-minute walk along the beach to the tasting site. You’ll be welcomed by a local expert who will share their knowledge about the process of making traditional and medicinal viche, as well as its derivative products. During this experience, you’ll have the chance to sample each of these ancient beverages from the Colombian Pacific region alongside the locals. Duration: 2 hours. Difficulty: low. Price: $ 10 / 9 € net per person. Minimum of 2 people.

6. TRIP TO THE COQUI MANGROVES
Depart from the ecolodge by boat to Coqui on a 20-minute trip. In the village of Coqui, take a traditional canoe (chingo) tour with local guides through the mangrove forest to observe the ecosystem and hear local stories. The tour lasts approximately 40 minutes. Return to the village of Coqui, time for a drink (not included), and at the agreed-upon time, return to the ecolodge by boat. Duration: 2 hours. Difficulty: low. Price: $ 44 / 39 € net per person. Minimum of 2 people. Program subject to change due to weather conditions. Rates subject to change without prior notice.
