A journey to one of Colombia’s most remote and breathtaking regions, where mighty rivers, rock formations, and ancient cultures converge. An exploratory journey that allows you to discover the Amazon through its geography, biodiversity, and the life that inhabits it.

Explore the Guainía River system, understand its ecological and cultural importance, and discover one of the most stunning landscapes of the Colombian Amazon.

Itinerary

DAY 1 – RIVERS, HONEY AND LIVING MEMORIES

Reception at Inírida Airport by the local team. Transfer to a local restaurant for lunch (depending on arrival time).

Afterward, transfer to the pier to begin a private boat cruise down the Inírida River, gradually entering the Amazon region.

During the trip, visit the community of La Ceiba, where you will learn about local productive initiatives related to conservation, such as melipona bee beekeeping and the production of traditional handicrafts.

Continue the boat trip toward the Cerros de Mavicure area, with a stop at the community of Remanso.

Check-in at community lodging run by the Puinave ethnic group. Dinner and overnight stay.

Focus of the day: entry into the territory, local context, and first contact with the community.

 

DAY 2 – DAWN IN THE SACRED – DANCE OF THE DOLPHINS – RIVER STAR

Breakfast. Morning departure for the ascent of Cerro de Mavicure, a hike that offers views of the region’s geography and the vastness of the Amazon River system.

Descent and continuation of the journey by boat to the Estrella Fluvial del Sur, the confluence of the Orinoco, Guaviare, and Atabapo rivers, considered one of the most important river systems in the region.

During the trip, interpretation of the natural environment and observation of the landscape. Transfer to the Kuwai-Mericure ecolodge.

Check-in, dinner, and overnight stay.

Focus of the day: geographical exploration and understanding of the river system

DAY 3 – AMAZON RAINFOREST ECOSYSTEMS

 

Breakfast. Departure for a guided hike to Piedra Yavi, following trails through the Amazon
rainforest and ecological transition zones. Lunch featuring local ingredients.

During the activity, there will be a guided interpretation of the natural environment, includingplant identification—you’ll have the chance to see the Inírida flower, a symbol of resilience andbeauty—as well as wildlife observation and an exploration of the region’s ecosystems.

Time for rest and activities in the natural environment.

Return to the lodge.

Dinner and overnight stay.

Focus of the day: exploration of ecosystems and biodiversity.

DAY 4 – RETURN TO INÍRIDA—CLOSING WITH GRATITUDE

Breakfast. Departure by boat for a final tour of the Atabapo, Orinoco, Guaviare, and Inírida rivers, offering a comprehensive view of the region’s river system. Lunch (depending on departure logistics).

Transfer to the airport for the return flight. Note: The itinerary may be adjusted depending on the return flight.

Focus of the day: closing the experience and departing the territory We weave a closing filled with gratitude for what we have experienced. Then, transfer to the airport and farewell… but not entirely: our hearts remain planted in the jungle.

End of the experience, beginning of memories.

Recommendations
This experience has basic physical requirements. The hike up the mountain is optional, but it requires good physical condition. We recommend bringing your yellow fever vaccination card, lightweight clothing, comfortable shoes, an open mind, and a deep respect for the communities and the land. Remember that every conscious choice contributes to caring for the planet.
